My inner "Martha"...

...came out to play today=) A friend of mine from church (the YW President) lost her mother this weekend and we (the remaining members of the presidency) wanted to do something nice for her. I am hopeless when it comes to knowing what to "do" for other people... does she need help with her garden?? windows washed?? anyway finally we decided to make cookies and let the girls decorate and give them to her. Then we started thinking "but what if she is AT YW on Tuesday? How do we surprise her when she is there??". The end result is that I made cookies and decorated them and had everyone sign a card and took it to her house, just so she would know we are thinking of her. I know this will come as a shock to you but I decided to try something new and decorate the cookies like I had seen on some random Food Network show once upon a time and then make a "bouquet" out of them. THIS is the result...

I even made the bow. As a crafty challenged person this is a MAJOR feat for me, add to that that I did it between work and kids and running to town twice today, then WOW I AM amazing.... I won't point out the 4 days worth of dishes sitting on my counter, the mountain of laundry that isn't folded OR the fact that my bed hasn't been made in a week...ignore all that and focus on the Cookie Bouquet....mmmmmmmm cookies....

P.S.
I got so addicted to icing cookies that I did these ones for snack at Alainas Pre-School tomorrow. The theme for the week is "Ways to move my body". I started last year trying to match my assigned treats to the theme of the week just to liven up snack time a bit. I had a great time with it and now that Allie is in the same class the teachers are all asking about "Cool treats" again...what can I do, lol!

P.P.S
I am also taking cheese strings, just to add a little nutrition=)

You're ridiculous. As in ... I hate you. I never think to do those kinds of things. I'm a creative retard.

In other news ... I love it, think it's wonderful and wish I was just like you ;)

About Me

I'm a mother of 4 and the wife of a patient and wonderful man. I read, I crochet, do everything I can to avoid housecleaning (epsecailly folding laundry). I love music and road trips, quiet nights and sunny days.
