The Joy of Painting

We got the green light to go ahead with the painting yesterday. So yesterday the first coat of primer went on (that was a party until about 11:00 PM). Today was spent applying the second coat of primer, and then the first coat of color in the bathroom.
This is our bedroom before the primer went on.

This is the bedroom after 2 coats of primer...

And this is the bathroom after the first coat of color. Oooh, ahhh....

I've come to the realization that you should buy painting supplies on the same principle you buy toilet paper. Go straight for the good stuff, it's worth it. Walk past the "6 rolls for $1" and go for the triple-quilted pack.

In the first 20 minutes of painting yesterday, I broke the handle on one of the rollers, then the other handle wouldn't keep the ******** roller on (I wasn't saying it, but I was thinking it). Then my hand nearly siezed up from holding the tiny handle that was probably tested on an African pigmy tribe who I'm sure all agreed it was the right size. So yesterday evening when we went back to Home Depot to get our second 5-gallon bucket of primer, I bought one of the nice contoured grip ergonomically-correct roller handles. Wow... if my hands weren't so damaged from using the cheap one, I would've enjoyed using the new one even more. I still had barely enough sensory perception left to know that the new one was much better...

lol... I feel for ya, Gary, I really do.
Fortunately Jerry doesn't go cheap on ANYTHING, so I have never experienced the nerve damaging horror you have in connection with painting.
You have done a bang up job thus far. Looking forward to seeing it all with my peepers next month!

It's true, there are some things you just can't go cheap on or else you pay in different ways.
