So they came and laid the weeping tile, sprayed on the tar and dumped the gravel for the houses drainage system today. They start putting the floor joists and framing the upstairs on Monday or Tuesday...
Apparently it is a sealant and it protects the concrete from any corrosive things inthe soil or rain...you learn something new everday=) AND the basement floor gets poured through a window AFTER the top floor is on and weather proof..I forgot that part. Cool eh?
I remember the floor being poured through a window from the white house - though the tar completely escaped my attention. Maybe I saw the black and it didn't occur to me that it was tar. Either way, WAY cool process.
I'm a mother of 4 and the wife of a patient and wonderful man. I read, I crochet, do everything I can to avoid housecleaning (epsecailly folding laundry). I love music and road trips, quiet nights and sunny days.

I had no idea tar was used in building a house, interesting.
