Canadian football, birthdays and Martha (slave driver)

Lots has been happening so in that wonderful irony of Blogs I have had no time to blog when there is actually STUFF to blog about. We had a great Thanksgiving with Garys family and a BBQ at Dad and Sandy's. Alaina turned 4 on October 7, I can't believe my baby is FOUR. My inner Martha insisted on making the cake, so I learned how to do rolled fondant icing for Alainas requested "chocolate princess cake", it turned out pretty well I just have to remember to not roll the fondant so thin if Martha doesn't keep her yap shut and I end up doing this again=). Trevor and Sheldon learned the joys of Canadian football when we woke up to wet snow on Saturday. There's nothing like freezing your butt off watching NINE YEAR OLDS play football in the snow. Everybody is cold and wet and nobody can keep a hold of the ball or stay upright for very long, at least it was entertaining. We also found out that Gary and I get to go to Texas in January for our anniversary (thank you Dad and Sandy and Airmiles) we are very excited, Gary is the only one that hasn't been down there yet and my only worry is if he will come back home to the snow after being in TX for a week in January=)

and here my kids are lucky when I remember to pick up a cake from Walmart ... I'm glad we don't live close, heaven knows you'd put me to shame.
Just looking at the pictures of Trevor playing in the snow make me shiver and quiver and THAT MUCH MORE glad I don't live in southern Alberta. God Bless TEXAS!
I'm totally pumped about having you come to Texas in January!
