When we revisit things from our childhood more often than not we are dissapointed or dissallusioned...not today=)!! I had a craving for Grandma Smiths donuts today so I hauled out the recipe and hoped for the best. I was half ready to be dissapointed, for the donuts to not taste as good as I remembered, or for the kitchen to catch fire from the oil on the stove, the usual. I have to say that the results of this little experiment are a rousing success! The kids are gobbling them up and I have put some aside for the grown ups=)

Cutting out the donuts with a jar lid and the large end of the baster...not how grandma did it but it got the job done.

Mmmmmm deepfried goodness...

Just for you Michael, without Sugar! Wierdo.

Mmmmm deepfried and sugar coated goodness...begining to understand why I could never lose weight while staying at Grandma Smiths house=)

A good memory and a wonderful thing to share with the next generation...Rhys has had about 4 donuts by now and has stated that he "might be full" =) A kid after your heart own Michael=)

I prefer them without sugar too ... unless it's chocolate glazed. Oh my. Chocolate glazed.
